PPUM Pediatrics Emergency Department

Being a mom proves to be the hardest job in the world.  Accidents do happen but when they actually happened, most people will panic and unsure what to do.  And when it involves kids, and being the mother of the only child, with no prior emergency experience, this is a traumatizing and frightening episode and a lesson for me to learn. My 3.5 years old girl was being very curious and naughty that fateful day.  She stood on the chair and play with my massage oil and containers and broke one of the small glass cups and when she panicked she came down from the chair and stepped on the broken glass. She was bleeding a lot and crying.  Since this happened at about 10.30pm, my first response was to drive her to a 24-hour clinic.  So, we went to the 24-hour Mediviron clinic but was turned away by the nurses, stating that her case is very serious and need to be referred to a hospital instead. My mind at that time was running at full speed.  I wasn't sure...

The Big Kindy Search Continues

Since my last The Big Kindy Search post , I have been looking around for kindies and been visiting some.  Here's my feel about them all. 1) Tadika Diyana Read good reviews about this and decided to check them out, though out of our way and far from home.  I love how the price is quite ok but still a bit on the high side (you can check it out at their website). I visited the premise and I really love how it is run like a mini primary school.  It's huge, with its own hall, field and canteen, although downsize version and it's just like a school.  Not like a bungalow with rooms as classroom.   However, I have decided not to send my girl because they will be moving to Sungai Penchala (further up from TTDI, near to the Penchala Link), which will be much further from our home.  Though they do have transporters, but I feel very wary about sending my 4 year old (next year) to a transporter. What I like about Tadika Diyana is they have 2 medi...

Review: The Lion King (2019)

So, we decided to spend my birthday watching The Lion King with other mummies and their kids.  It was fun and we really enjoyed the day out.  But the movie has a mixed review.  Yup, I read the reviews before going and it was lukewarm.  And now that I have watched it, I can totally understand that lukewarm feeling. Let me just summarized it.  It was like watching National Geographic. The songs are still great.  But I totally cannot comment on the acting because they are all CGI-created and you can't expect real animals to have emotions right?  Like smiling, crying, laughing, anger?  So, yeah, that sums up the whole movie.  Cinematography was great too. The animals were talking but they have no emotions.  Nothing in their eyes.   Half way through the movie, my girl got a bit bored and kept asking me if the movie is over.  Well, I am not sure if they can make it better but the colour of the lions and the colo...

Nostalgia

No, I am not pregnant.  Was kinda regretting not having a second child, but I think we are better this way.  Though many are encouraging me to try another one, but pregnancy at 4.0 is not going to be easy. Now that I am not pregnant, I would like reminisce the time when I was pregnant.  So many taboos I have broken and so on. Just now, I read a sad news about a soon-to-be mother, who listened to this group of mothers on FB about not to induce the baby, and her baby died at 45 weeks.  So, please, please, please, do not listen to the mothers.  Follow your heart, if you feel something is not right, please go to the hospital right away.  Stop asking for advice on FB.  None of us are experts and they are only advising you based on their own experience.  Every one is different.  Every pregnancy is different.  Every labour is different. OK, back to my pregnancy 3 years back.   Travelling Q1:  Can pregnant mothe...

Disney Renaissance Era

Disney Renaissance Era was at its peak during my childhood.  So I got to watch all the movies then, started with The Little Mermaid, Beauty and the Beast, Aladdin, The Lion King, Pocahontas, The Hunchback of Notre Dame, Hercules and Mulan.  Except for Tarzan. Here's my honest review about them.   The Little Mermaid I was in my primary school when I first watched it.  While I really love Prince Eric, I felt Ariel was a bit of a fool.  Imagine I was 10 at that time and I felt that.  I love the songs though, all of them were very nice, especially 'Under the Sea' and 'Kiss the Girl' and 'Part of Your World'.   When Ariel lost her voice, I was so frustrated at how silly she could be, to give up her voice so that she can have legs to meet with Prince Eric.  I mean, come on.  And the whole process of trying to get Prince Eric to kiss her without telling him who she was because she can't talk or sing is a bit frustrating. ...

Review: Aladdin - 2019

During the Raya break, took my little girl to watch Aladdin.  We enjoyed it thoroughly and she watches it immensely only at the singing parts and started walking around during the talking parts. I have watched the 1994 version before and I find the real life version very similar to the 1994 cartoon version.  The songs were build up with a bit more modern tune compared to the classic ones, with a bit of rap here and there and some EDM (Electronic Dance Music) here and there.  I have been binge-ing on the soundtrack before the movie, both versions and found that they added more electric guitar, more tabla (Indian classical drums) and tweak a bit to sound more Arabic like to it compared to the classical version. Character wise, I really love Will Smith's portrayal of the Genie.  Although no one can ever beat the Robin Williams's version in the original version, but Will Smith gave another portrayal, which is quite true to the original version and yet his own pe...

About the infamous affair

So, the latest news was the wife have forgiven the husband.  It was announced on Instagram.  Those who are aware of this, would know who I am talking about.  While it has nothing to do with me, neither a fan of any of those involved,  I feel the need to say this from my heart. To the wife, the purportedly victim in this whole incident. I know you have forgiven him and you did it based on your religion.  But I hope you know that no matter how religious a person, if he wants to cheat, he would not think of his religion at all. While he tried to hide his actions, he did daringly do it in a public transport.  Was he thinking of you at that time?  Was he even thinking of his religion?  No, I don't think so.  Even if there wasn't a camera in the taxi/Uber/Grab, the driver is a human right?  And the driver can report this to media right?  But your husband never thought about the consequences at all when he decided to openly ki...
