Avocado and pear puree

This is not baby's first puree and I read that we better not mix 2 fruits together when we first start solid food.

So far, baby has tried single food, avocado, pear, sweet potato, pumpkin and potato puree.  I don't dare to try banana and apple because it falls under the BRAT category that may cause constipation.  Though I just started homemade rice cereal with her.

I noticed that most of the websites that provide solid food recipes for babies are western, from US mostly.  So the fruits and vegetables that are easily found in their country may not be applicable for us here in Malaysia.  Besides, since these vegetables and fruits are export quality, it's usually more expensive.  What more if we get organic ones.

For this puree, it's very easy to make and it's very delicious.  When it comes to 2 food mix, I would rather mix one not sweet and one sweet so that it's not overly sweet.  And preferably not to give baby too much sweet food, otherwise baby would learn the taste and not accept anything else.

Ingredient: A pear and an avocado

I blended the avocado beforehand and kept in the freezer for future use.

As for the pear, I steamed it for 5 minutes and pour away the excess water as I don't want the puree to be too watery and then pureed.

Then cool down the pear a bit and then mix with the avocado.  The avocado was first transferred from the freezer to the other side and once it has defrosted, can take out and mix with the pear.

Once mix, the temperature will be like room temperature because one hot and one cold.

She loves it because the pear brings a sweet taste while the avocado a richer taste though bland.
